Northshore is a working boatyard in Itchenor on Chichester Harbour.
At its heart, Northshore is a busy yard – boats being lifted, launched, scrubbed, stored and prepared every day of the week.
From that yard, everything else grows – our Boat Club, marine businesses and the wider team building something special on the harbour.
Which is where this role comes in.
The Role
We’re looking for a Marine Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day running of the boatyard and Lift & Launch operation.
You’ll be responsible for planning boat movements, overseeing lifts and launches, managing machinery and equipment, and leading the small team that keeps everything running smoothly.
It’s a hands-on leadership role. The kind where you’re as comfortable in the yard as you are organising the day ahead.
Safety, organisation and pride in running a well-kept site matter here.
What You’ll Be Responsible For

Planning and coordinating boat movements across the yard and Lift & Launch system

Ensuring lifting, launching and storage operations run safely and efficiently

Managing and maintaining site machinery and lifting equipment

Leading, training and supporting the operational team

Maintaining high standards across the site, from safety and compliance to presentation

Working closely with the wider Northshore team as the site continues to grow
The Kind of Person We’re Looking For
You’ll likely come from a background in marine engineering, mechanical engineering, or marina and boatyard operations.
Just as important is how you approach the job.
Practical.
Organised.
Calm under pressure.
Someone who takes ownership and enjoys improving how things work.
Northshore is still evolving, so the right person will enjoy helping shape the operation as it grows.
ABOUT NORTHSHORE
Since taking the keys in 2024, we’ve been steadily investing in the site – expanding Lift & Launch, growing the Boat Club fleet and welcoming new marine businesses to call Northshore home.
Around that, something else is taking shape. An on-site gym, pop-up sauna, open-air cinema nights, and more reasons for people to spend time down on the harbour.
We’re growing something special here, with the boatyard firmly at the centre of it.
